ANDREW WEISS President & Chief Executive Officer

Andrew Weiss joined ReCor Medical as President & CEO in April 2013.

Mr. Weiss brings over 20 years experience in the Medical Device Industry, starting with global management responsibilities at GE Medical Systems. Mr. Weiss left GE to become Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Marquette Medical Systems. Following Marquette, Mr. Weiss became President & CEO of Vital Images, a company he took public in 1996. Mr. Weiss then joined Medtronic as VP & General Manager of its Surgical Navigation Systems business, following which he became VP & General Manager of the Medtronic Neurological business. Prior to joining ReCor Medical, Mr. Weiss served as President & CEO of CoAxia, Inc.

Mr. Weiss is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree in mechanical and electrical engineering and has an MBA from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.

 

MANO IYER Founder & Chief Operating Officer

Mano Iyer is a founder of ReCor Medical. He has also served as Entrepreneur-In-Residence at Sofinnova Partners, a life science venture capital firm, in Paris, France since 2008.

Mr. Iyer has spent the last 20 years working in the Medical Device Industry in various engineering, operational, and investment roles in the US, France, Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands, for public and private enterprises. He is a co-founder of Contract Medical International in Germany and a former Investment Manager at MD Start, a European-based medical device accelerator.

Mano has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

MATTHEW J. FRANKLIN, MBA Chief Financial Officer

Matthew Franklin joined ReCor Medical as CFO in June 2015.

Mr. Franklin has been CFO of numerous venture-backed companies including most recently serving as CFO of myoscience (therapeutics/aesthetics) for six years. He specializes in helping Pre-IPO companies get through initial commercialization..

In 2000, he co-founded, CFO Connection, a financial services firm that assists technology and medtech companies in successfully building their businesses.

Prior to CFO Connection he was ACLARA BioSciences’ (medtech) top financial officer for four years. Earlier in his career he was Co-Founder and CFO at BioLumin Corporation (sold to GE Healthcare) and held senior financial positions at VeloBind (Manufacturing) and Precision Echo (Defense Manufacturer), both public companies.

Mr. Franklin received a BS in Business from the University of Southern California and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

LEWIS (TOM) THOMAS, Ph.D Vice President, R&D and Operations

Dr. Thomas joined ReCor in August 2015 with 30 years of experience in ultrasound medical device development.

Prior to ReCor, Dr. Thomas led R&D for the Boston Scientific Imaging Division for nine years, leading the development of the Comet guidewire for fractional flow reserve (FFR) applications as well as the FFR Link interface and Polaris multi-modality system for both intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) imaging and FFR measurements. Tom’s team also developed the OptiCross IVUS catheter.

Previously, Dr. Thomas led research teams at both Acuson and GE Ultrasound, including commercialization of technology for color-flow imaging, real-time 3D imaging, contrast agent imaging, and automatic enhancement of image quality.

Dr. Thomas received his Ph.D. in physics from Washington University in St. Louis; his thesis developed technology for characterizing myocardium using ultrasound.

HELEN REEVE-STOFFER, Ph.D Vice President, Clinical Affairs

Helen Reeve-Stoffer joined ReCor Medical as VP of Clinical Affairs in June 2013.

Dr. Reeve-Stoffer has more than 15 years of experience of global clinical and Medical Affairs program development in the medical device industry preceded by an additional 9 years in academic research and teaching. Most recently Dr. Reeve-Stoffer served as CRM Clinical Director for New Product Development and Low Voltage platforms for Boston Scientific Inc. where she was responsible for the pre and post-launch clinical evidence and regulatory program strategies. She also held the position of International Director of Medical Affairs and Education at Cameron Health BV and prior to that had several US and International-based clinical positions for Guidant Corporation including project management, technical field support for all study phases and the development of country-specific clinical business strategies. She began her academic career as an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Reeve-Stoffer earned her PhD and BSc in Pharmacology at the University of Leeds, Leeds UK.

LESLIE COLEMAN, DVM, MS, DACLAM Vice President, Regulatory & Medical Affairs

Leslie Coleman joined ReCor Medical as Senior Director of Scientific & Medical Affairs in May 2013.

Dr. Coleman has 14 years of experience in the medical device industry in medical affairs, preclinical and clinical research, and over 10 years of veterinary medicine. Prior to joining ReCor Medical, Dr. Coleman served as Director, Medical Affairs at Abbott Vascular Structural Heart. Previously, Dr. Coleman was Director, PreClinical Research at Abbott Vascular and Guidant Corporation where she was a key contributor towards numerous research and development projects to treat coronary artery disease. Dr. Coleman has contributed towards the development of several drug eluting stent platforms through PMA submission, FDA Advisory panel meeting and PMA approval. Dr. Coleman received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California, Davis, a Masters of Science in Toxicology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and is a Diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine.
