The company dates back to 1949, when Juan Gassó Bosch and José María Espoy founded the distribution company Gaes, upon receiving an order from a friend’s father to bring a hearing aid from Great demand for these devices and Mr Gassó’s enterprising spirit were key factors in its success. Business growth was intense and in just a short time it became the sector’s largest company, eventually reaching the current figure of 500 hearing establishments worldwide.

Importing hearing aids was the initial activity of the company, which was gradually to expand its business, despite the host of obstacles the partners were forced to overcome in importing the products to Spain.

In 1958, the founders of Gaes took a further step in their hearing adventure and founded Microson, the only manufacturing brand of hearing aids in Spain. As part of the Gaes group, Microson was founded to provide the hard of hearing with access to cutting-edge hearing aids and to guarantee the best value for money on the market.

Microson’s headquarters in Barcelona occupies an area of over 2,000 m2 and has 130 professionals. It has state-of-the-art microelectronics, precision mechanics, tools, software (adaptation modules, ERP, etc.), applications engineering and manufacturing processes.

All Microson articles pass strict quality control tests that ensure the end product complies with the most demanding requisites. As a health product manufacturer it has EC certification in accordance with Appendix II.3 (total quality assurance system), and with the 13485:2003 and ISO 9001:2000 standards. To ensure greater control and safety, each hearing aid can be traced by the serial and lot number of its components.
