Medical imaging equipment

Medical imaging equipment, devices. Medical imaging is a term used to describe different medical methods, techniques and software that create views of internal patient’s body structures. It includes imaging of cardiovascular system which shows functioning and structure of arteries, veins and the heart, imaging of patient’s central and peripheral nervous system (brain, spinal cord and nerves), imaging of musculoskeletal system (that includes bones, muscles, ligaments and joints), imaging of urogenital system (urinary tract and reproductive organs) and other body systems. It is also used to view formation of the fetus during pregnancy. There are different techniques for examining soft tissues, like tendons, ligaments and organs and hard tissues, like bones or teeth. Medical images are used in almost all medical fields, for example, in traumatology imaging is the most important component when determining diagnosis. Most medical imaging examinations are non- invasive, though sometimes an active substance must be inserted into patient’s body (for example, by swallowing or injecting into a blood vessel) to create the view of internal structures. Most techniques create two- dimensional cross- sectional view of body structures.
