The thoracic extension can be removed easily at the later stage when only the collar is required. The device can be used in case of upper & lower C-Spine disruptions, one level instabilities, isolated compartment fracture, lateral mass fracture, spinous process fracture, stable Jefferson or Hangmans Fracture, Type I Odontoid, Degenerative disorders, immobilization after trauma/surgery, spinal stenosis, and spondylolisthesis. The device is both x-ray and MR resistant. The parallelogram effect is removed by the help of floating back enabling management of proper patient alignment. Easy snaps on and off is possible irrespective of patient's positioning (sitting, standing, or lying down). Chin strut is easily affixed with Miami J® Collar enabling it to be used without bars and metal uprights. The design of the thoracic extension helps in step up to a CTO or step down to a collar easily which makes it a user friendly device.
